On May 02, 2020, I was victim of an assault and battery. According to me, it could qualify as an assault with a deadly weapon. The driver who almost hit me with his car would later stop his car and hit me on my face. He also made a comment which, if, and only if, I understood correctly, could be interpreted as a racial slur in China. Therefore, no matter what, at some point in time, this case should have been handled as a criminal case. If the Police later determine that it is not a criminal case, they should have given me a notice of non-filing (不予立案通知书) which I never received. I asked the Police to recuse but they never answered me on that point. Furthermore, I believe it’s fair to say a Police officer might have committed the crime of witness tampering by falsely implying that I had not respected the law, which is ridiculous.
